Yet another beautiful feather has just been added to the cap of the current President of the Nigerian Association of Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Chief Bassey E.O.Edem FCA, MFR., as he has been awarded Doctorate of Business Administration (Financial Management) Degree from the London Graduate School, United Kingdom.

The forthwith addressed as Chief (Dr.) Bassey E. O. Edem -FCA, MFR holds a National Diploma in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology, a Bachelor of Science in accounting from University of Lagos and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Calabar.

He started his working life with the United Africa Company of Nigeria (UACN) Plc. as an Internal Auditor in 1975 and climbed up to the position of Senior Audit Group Manager by 1979 before being transferred to its then subsidiary company, Pamol Nigeria Limited (PNL) as Commercial Manager. In 1982, he was promoted Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, a position he held for 22 years. He was also an Executive Director of Dunlop Nigeria Plc that later became the parent company of Pamol Nigeria Limited from 1996 to 2005 before going on voluntary retirement.

* Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators (FCIS) UK,
* Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and

Chief (Dr.) Bassey E.O. Edem FCA, MFR has held various business, social, philanthropic, religious and public service positions which include:

* President of the National Association of Agricultural and Allied Employers (NAAAE), Chairman of the National Joint Industrial Council (NJIC),

* Chairman of the World Bank sponsored Real Sector Stakeholders Committee on Procurement and Member Cross River State Transition Committee 2007.

Chief (Dr.) Bassey Edem FCA, MFR., is also currently a Vice Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Productivity Centre, non-executive Director of Pamol (Nigeria) Limited, and of Presco Nigeria Plc, the Chairman of Demaco Integrated Ventures Limited and a Commission Member of the Cross River State Planning Commission.
